5 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR CHILD PHYSICALLY ACTIVE AT HOME !

Kids have been home for a year now . From once a week screen time , my kids got twice , thrice and then they negotiated everyday.
It got so much into my head that I knew I had to get more creative .
Having two boys is a blessing . (Let me put it this way having children is a blessing whether you have 2 sons , 2 daughters , one daughter and a son) .  Siblings are fun and so you can ideate games that can keep them busy.
Since I believe in personal sharing. This article will definitely help you if you are a parent to two boys.
So when I intuitively realised we might get into another lockdown. I started preparing things my kids would do this year at home.
Boys are genetically programmed to be energetic and active . Their brain is wired for aggression.  Banning a toy weapon failed at my home  because they were  using their hands , fingers to make a gun and would play all day.  My home is loaded with Indian & Western Super Heroes.
As a mother to two boys , I am of the opinion we have two jobs .
One is to appreciate and reinforce the delightful qualities of boys . Another is to transform the not so delightful characteristics of boys.
(Which is not easy , me and my husband are still work in progress. Will share tried and tested techniques . please subscribe to #queensbrigade to stay updated )
Now their brain needs challenge and excitement. We have to find ways for our boys to feel challenged .
School homework or sitting jobs don’t challenge them. They need more physical games , competition that drives them to greater confidence.
So I decided to order a few things for both my sons that would excite them and physically keep them active.
My boys of 3 years and 5 years love monkey bar . And the love for monkey bar continues this year too.  We love the feel and grip of this one that we  bought from amazon . It’s sturdy and amazing.

Since climbing helps children develop problem solving techniques, they  learn to fight their fears and push their boundaries.  I decided to add a colourful ladder in their bedroom. Since my boys love colors . I installed a colourful one  .
You can install a ladder vertically or horizontally depending on the space.  Make sure to put some mats if the surface is hard . In case this inspires you , you can buy from the link mentioned below.

I bought a single rope too and hung on the monkey bar .
Building a rope and wooden ladder  has definitely reduced their aggression , screen time . Since they are jumping and climbing all day ,they get tired and sleep on time.
If you have a hyperactive child  , let him fly and hang around on the single rope ( link mentioned below)

My little one who is 3 year old is learning alphabets and spills food everywhere in the room . So we decided to buy a big double sided waterproof mat that has alphabets mentioned on them .
My husband and boys converted that into a hopscotch game.  They also love playing “Simon says jump on letter …. fruit . .  ” which keeps them entertained for 30 mins.
This mat is also wonderful for babies as young as 6 months .  To play this game with your child order this washable double sided mat  from amazon.

Both my boys love to scribble on the wall , while last year I dedicated one wall for them to paint and make a mess . This year I ordered a blackboard wall paper for them in their room . Now it also acts as a place where we do our homeschooling from. We do roleplays . There are days when my kids become teachers and make me understand concepts , and there are days when I actually take their classes in the ways where they have fun. You can order for your child from here .

I hope these ideas help you mommies . I will also be sharing DIY things to keep them excited in my next post . Subscribe to our blogpost.

Let’s challenge ourselves to do what it takes to give our  boys the chance to become their best selves.
